The premier league is one of the best leagues when it comes to entertainment and the level of competition it offers amongst them. Here, Leicester city can stun the traditional top 6 by winning the title with Claudio Ranieri. But, for quite some time since Jurgen Klopp has taken over, Liverpool looks promising again, visionary again, hungry for trophies again. The success can be talked about in a way that Liverpool managed to win Champion League of 2018 and securing 2nd place just behind Manchester City in the premier league. A year later, they followed it up to win their first premier league title after 30 long years. Liverpool are a club with rich history with club legends including Robbie Fowler, Ian Rush, Steven Gerrard, and many more.
But, as recent as 2020-21 season, the title race is looking much more open than before with Liverpool currently sitting 4th in the table behind United, City and Leicester. So, what has gone wrong for Klopp? He has had a great run of form everywhere, whether it be the league, or the Europe. Liverpool was setting new records with their impressive home run of records they have set for themselves. Liverpool were unbeaten in 68 home games before yesterday's loss to Burney at home. It was only after 4 years that any team has successfully defeated Liverpool at their home.
The Clarets were pushing for a draw with Divock Origi missing a massive chance for Liverpool when he hit the bar. There were some impressive saves and nothing to take away from the Burney goalkeeper, Nick Pope. As we approached the 82nd minute of the match, a ball searching for Ashley Barnes went into the box, he evaded a challenge to reach to it and was caught off by incoming rushing Alisson, who caught Barnes instead of the ball. Mike Dean pointed to the spot and Ashley Barnes slots it to the bottom right corner to seal off the deal for the Clarets.
FULL TIME -: LIVERPOOL 0-1 BURNLEY.
It was a lesson for Klopp that he'll be in for some tough run this season especially when we can see City, United and Leicester are all on form and there is now a 6 point game between them and United at top, courtesy of a United win earlier with Fulham with goals scored by Cavani and Pogba.
